The picture shown is a sectional view through a cylinder showing how the Solaplug should fit inside the cylinder. The stainless steel heat exchanger does not touch the existing coil.
|
1. Disconnect the existing immersion heater, first make sure that the electric connection is off.
2. Shut off the cold feed and drain the hot water cylinder to a level below the immersion heater boss. 3. Unscrew the old immersion heater with a purpose made spanner or socket, taking care not to bend or tear the wall of the cylinder. |

7. Once the Solaplug is fully lowered onto the collar, rotate it so that the immersion heater bore is closer to the hot water outlet at top of the cylinder. The heat exchanger coil should not be touching the existing coil inside the cylinder, (if fitted). Then screw it down in position with the M5 set screws, making sure that the washer is correctly positioned & the screws are equally tight, creating a water tight seal.
|
8. Insert the immersion heater through the bore ( not forgetting the washer) and screw it down.
